Cricket Communications, Inc. has announced that its shot candybar A100 Cricket phone for people living in the newly launched Soccer Major Market Chicago, and will be followed by customers in all parts of Cricket. The A100 is a unique slim candybar style phone designed for both function and form in a form factor, but personally I do not believe that happened. Somewhere a relatively cheap price for a unit that packs in a lot of features yet it is rare, there must be a floor price if you want a product desirable in the public eye.

Features of the A100 include :

• 1.8” LCD screen (128×160 CSTN, 65K)
• Speech recognition for handsfree dialing
• 2.5mm mono headset jack (bah!)
• mini USB charging port
• 31MB internal memory
• Hearing Aid compatible

The A100 will retail for $89.99 at Cricket stores and dealers in the Chicago area.
